Maeve is a partner in Matheson’s Disputes and Investigations Group, specialising in planning, environmental and safety law. Maeve has advised on a wide variety planning cases as well as non-litigious planning and environmental matters. She advises clients in relation to the full project lifecycle, anticipating regulatory challenges and aligning legal strategy with project goals. She is recognised as a thought leader in this space, regularly speaking at public events on recent developments and trends in the environmental and planning spheres.

Maeve trained in a top-tier Irish law firm and qualified into their Tier 1 Planning and Environmental team. In 2020 she moved to another Tier 1 Planning and Environmental practice and spent a number of years as advisor to the national planning body. She joined Matheson in late 2025 and was promoted to partner in January this year.

Maeve is a member of CCBE’s Environment and Climate Change Committee and IBEC’s Environment Policy Working Group. She is also a member of Solar Ireland’s Planning Working Group. Maeve was a founding member of WISE(IR) – Women in Solar Energy (Ireland) and won the “Empowering Diversity in Solar” Award at the Solar Ireland Awards in 2024. She was one of four people shortlisted, along with Senator David Norris, for the LGBTQ+ Person of the Year award at the Galas in 2024.
